for Corporate BoCs, BoDs and Senior Officers

Helping corporate commissioners and directors ensure that financial statements and reports fairly
reflect the financial performance and position of the company.

Corporate commissioners and directors are expected to be capable of understanding his/her company’s affairs
to the extent of actually reaching a reasonably informed opinion of its financial capacity.

They are required to be capable of monitoring the company’s financial affairs by aptly equipping themselves with appropriate
skills and competencies that would allow them to analyze and interpret financial performance of their company using a variety
of analytical tools as well as financial and non-financial indicators.

International best practices expect commissioners and directors to:

• Analyze typical business transactions and its implications to the company’s financial position
• Identify important ratios that the board needs to monitor closely

• Identify the issues about the development of non-financial performance indicators
• Describe the financial reporting needs of the board as well as other users of the companies’ financial information
• Understand the Board’s role in detecting financial fraud in an organization

To help Indonesian commissioners and directors improve on their financial oversight roles, the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship (IICD)
is offering this course on financial numeracy for corporate commissioners and directors. This course presents a set of recommendations based on the above subjects, and it takes into account board practices and accounting standards in Indonesia. In addition to the lectures and case discussions, the course includes a panel discussion on various issues by leading commissioners or directors and practitioners.
